The Commission Human Resource Management within the German Academic Association for Business Research was founded in 1973. The Commission focuses on questions of describing, explaining and shaping human work in organizations, especially in companies. Among the more than 200 members of the commission a broad range of theoretical perspectives is represented: Economical, sociological and psychological as well as political, pedagogical or ergonomical approaches. To enhance research and communication between theory and practice, annual workshops ("Herbstworkshop") are held.
