Who is Who in VHB ProDok

The VHB ProDok lecturers are characterised by their strong research skills, internationally recognised expertise, and high level of professional commitment. Many of them have been involved in the ProDok programme for a number of years. As part of the 'Who's Who' campaign, the lecturers share insights into their personal motivations and what participants can expect from their courses in short interviews. Clicking on a portrait will take you to a detailed introduction, including an interview, as well as course details if they are currently on offer.

Qualification for business research

VHB ProDok is the course programme of the German Academic Association of Business Research (VHB). Since its launch in 2009 with just two courses, it has grown to support the academic qualification of doctoral students and postdocs in business research and related disciplines, offering around 25 high-quality, constantly evolving courses each year.

VHB ProDok is characterised by its high professional quality, practical relevance, and methodological depth. It offers customised content across five departments.

The programme is aimed at researchers in all stages of their careers:

  • Doctoral students in the initial, middle or final phase;
  • Postdocs and research assistants;
  • and supervising professors who wish to provide targeted support to early career researchers.

A network for scholars

ProDok is much more than just a course programme. It is a network of dedicated academics from across the German-speaking region and beyond who prioritise rigorous research, sound methodology, and professional collaboration.

VHB ProDok

The VHB ProDok programme consists of intensive, four-day courses, focusing either on methodology or on a specific theme, which are compiled annually. The ProDok Faculty working group designs the content in consultation with the VHB Executive Board.

VHB ProDok primarily supplements doctoral training in business administration at universities in a selective and tailored manner. Furthermore, where no corresponding programme exists, ProDok offers the opportunity to complete a full programme of courses in order to obtain the necessary qualifications/ECTS credits en route to successfully completing a doctorate.
